Prayaag School Cuts Carbon by 9%
EcoEngage partnered with Prayaag International School in Panipat to help reduce its carbon footprint by 9%. The initiative focused on simple yet impactful changes, such as replacing traditional lighting with energy-efficient LEDs, reducing paper usage by encouraging digital practices. Additionally, the school introduced waste segregation and composting for canteen waste. These combined efforts not only made the campus more eco-friendly but also engaged students in hands-on sustainability practices, leading to a significant overall reduction in the school’s carbon emissions.
Upcycling in the Community: A Creative Approach
Project: Upcycling Initiative Challenge: Excessive waste in urban areas, leading to landfill overload. Solution: We hosted workshops teaching citizens how to upcycle household waste into useful items, like converting old bottles into plant pots or storage containers. Outcome: Over 500 participants took part, significantly reducing waste and promoting creative eco-friendly living.
Sustainable Agriculture: Empowering Local Farmers
Project: Eco-Farming Techniques Challenge: Local farmers struggled with unsustainable agricultural practices that depleted soil quality. Solution: EcoEngage introduced organic farming techniques and water conservation practices to reduce environmental impact while boosting crop yield. Outcome: Farmers increased their yield by 30%, using fewer resources, and now operate in harmony with nature.
